One day in the synagogue, the rabbi is conducting prayers when he hears an argument going on at the back. Yossi and Jacob are involved in a heated discussion.

'Jacob I tell you, black is a colour.'

'no Yossi, black is no colour.'

'Yes, black is a colour!'

The rabbi steps in. 'What is this? we are conducting prayers here and you two are waking the dead. Have a little respect. no?'

'we are sorry Rabbi,' says Yossi,' but it is a most important question. Dear Rabbi, we know you are a man of great education. You are a teacher of our community. Can you tell us please, is black a colour?'

So the rabbi stops to consider this. 'Well brothers, I can't give you the number or name of the appropriate scripture just now, but yes, I am sure that we Jews believe that black is a colour. Now, may I get back to the prayers?'

And he returns to reading the prayers. Soon he hears another argument from the back of the synagogue.

'White is a colour.'

'No, white is no colour!'

Again, the rabbi steps in. 'Jacob, Yossi, what are you doing? We are in a synagogue trying to pray to our God, the saviour, and you two are still arguing! My friends, please! Stop this.'

'We are sorry rabbi, trully sorry,' says Yossi again. 'But we have an extremely important question and we must seek your advice. Please Rabbi, can ou tell us, is white a colour?'

So the rabbi, trying to maintain his patience with these two, looks fr an answer.

'God help me. Yes,' he says,'white is a colour too. God has also given us white as a colour. Now gentlemen, please, I beg you. May I continue with the prayers?'

He begins again when he hears Yossi say to Jacob,'You see Jacob? No question, you can trust me. I sold you a colour TV.'
